This class provides expectant parents with information on breastfeeding for expectant families. Who should attend? All pregnant women and their partners are welcome.
When and where is it held?
Classes are held at Grand River Hospital’s KW Site in the Kaufman Building, which can be easily accessed by Green Street (official address is 40 Green Street). Classes are held on the first Wednesday of every month in room K202 from 7 to 9 pm. We ask that you arrive by 6:50 pm. Parking is available outside the Kaufman building, or in the KW Site’s main parking garage.
What are the topics covered in the class? An International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) will provide instruction on:
- How to position and latch your baby successfully;
- What to expect in the first 24 and 48 hours;
- How to tell if your baby is getting enough;
- How to avoid sore nipples and other problems; and
- What to do if you need help.

What is the cost to attend? The course costs $25 payable by cheque to Grand River Hospital at the time of the class. |
