Proposed expansion to simulator and the radiation treatment units: Grand River Regional Cancer Centre
One of Grand River Hospital’s proposed capital projects is the expansion of the cancer centre’s simulator and radiation treatment units.
To facilitate maximum use of the existing radiation treatment resources, an additional CT simulator is required. Currently the centre only has one CT simulator and this puts treatment in a vulnerable position with respect to machine breakdowns.
The GRRCC currently operates four radiation treatment units. To serve the expected demand for service, the centre requires an additional treatment unit taking the centre’s treatment machine numbers to five units. |
