Dyspnea management program

At the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre (GRRCC) we care about your breathing. We offer a shortness of breath program to assist you with on-going support for your breathing.

If you are currently receiving care at GRRCC and you are struggling with your breathing, you are invited to participate in a breathing program to help improve how you manage your breathing on a day-to-day basis.
Our current program offers:
  • Four visits with a clinical nurse specialist and specialized oncology nurses focused on the cause of shortness of breath and ways to manage it;
  • A relaxation workshop with a social worker to encourage selfcare; and
  • An educational video to assist with breathing re-training and written material to take home.

For more information please click here to view the dyspnea management program brochure.

Listed below are a few short videos so you can learn how to better manage your shortness of breath.

Click below to listen to four self-directed exercises to help you reduce your stress and experience your calm.
