Information for families, companions and friends

Families and friends can provide significant support for people with lived experience with mental health. We encourage their involvement and would like to provide the following resources that may help you, a friend or a loved one.

  • For information about supports for families including the family support group and the family education series, please contact 519-749-4300 ext. 3729 or speak to a staff member.
  • For information related to support for families dealing with substance use issues, please call 519-749-4318 and talk to an addictions staff member.
  • F.A.C.E. - Families for Awareness, Change and Education is an advisory council whose members volunteer and partner with the Grand River Hospital mental health and addictions program to support family-centered involvement and to strengthen communication and collaboration with families.
