Grand River Hospital is an important home for medical learners, with students from southwestern Ontario enhancing their skills at our sites.
If approved, GRH plans to expand capacity to create a learning environment for medical students. This project is required to support McMaster DeGroote School of Medicine in Kitchener.
This project would include:
- Space to accommodate clinical clerks and residents during the rotation experience in family medicine, pediatrics, internal medicine, geriatrics, psychiatry, and emergency medicine;
- Dictation/charting workstations and conference/teaching rooms on the inpatient units, diagnostic areas, emergency and ambulatory clinics;
- Library, video conference room, and learning areas for students;
- Additional exam room for ambulatory care clinics to accommodate additional workload in the medical day unit; and
- On-call rooms, showers, lockers and lounge area.
