Grand River Hospital's new outpatient unit brings existing services together in a 30,000 square foot area in existing space on the second floor of the Kitchener-Waterloo Site. Consolidated services include day surgery, endoscopy, medical day care, minor surgical procedures, gynecology procedures and outpatient rehabilitation services. To help patients easily locate the services they need, the new space provides a common reception, registration and waiting area, all with easy access to the hospital’s main entrance.Located adjacent to the operating rooms, the central outpatient services is more efficient for patients and staff. For example, the new unit allows for centralized patient scheduling, a flexible allocation of staff and more shared resources.Redevelopment of this space was completed in June 2011.
