MCCs are regularly scheduled meetings where healthcare providers discuss the diagnosis and treatment of individual cancer patients.
MCCs are mandated as a quality of care initiative by Cancer Care Ontario. There is increasing evidence that regular meetings of multidisciplinary teams contribute to improved patient outcomes. The MCC reviews individual cancer patients and makes recommendations on best management for individual patients. All cancer patients in Ontario, independent of their geographic locale, should have the opportunity to have their case reviewed in an MCC.
