What personal items will you need during your stay?
Please have your family bring the following items to the unit. All items must be labelled with the owner's name:
- A hairbrush, comb, toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash, shampoo, soap, unscented lotion, deodorant, safety or electric razors and shaving cream;
- Loose clothing such as track suits and non-elastic socks;
- Sleepwear, non-skid slippers and a bathrobe;
- Walking or running shoes for therapy;
- Mobility aids such as canes and walkers;
- Glucometer and insulin pen (if necessary); and
- Hearing aides, eyeglasses, and dentures.
Other items such as photos and cards may be brought in. Please arrange these items so they do not crowd patient areas or increase anyone's risk of falling.
As per hospital safety regulations, electrical items such as radios and hair dryers must be approved before being used. Please speak with your nurse about this. |
