We recommend you bring the following items with you when coming in to the emergency department at Grand River Hospital:
- A valid health card;
- Any information pertaining to current health condition/illness (referral notes/tests/current treatment plan);
- Up-to-date medication list and your medications in their original bottles (including all inhalers, insulin, eye drops, herbal products, vitamins etc.);
- A list of your allergies;
- Your insurance information/coverage;
- A small amount of money/change for the payphone, or to purchase food if needed;
- One support person or two parents while waiting or being treated (all children under the age of 16 should be with a parent or guardian);
- A quiet activity for while you wait (i.e. reading material); and
- If you’re expecting an extended stay at the hospital, please bring personal items such as toiletries.
