Tracy Elop was elected as chair of Grand River Hospital’s board of directors in June 2013.
Tracy Elop first joined the Grand River Hospital Board of Directors in 2003. She took a hiatus from 2008-2010 and rejoined the Board in July 2010. Ms. Elop has chaired several Board committees and currently serves as Vice Chair of the Board and Chair of the Quality and Patient Safety Committee.
Ms. Elop is a Chartered Accountant and the Chief Financial Officer for KidsAbility Centre for Child Development. Prior to that she worked as an independent professional services consultant. Her previous position as a senior manager at Deloitte and Touche in the firm’s Audit and Regulatory Consulting practices has benefited Grand River Hospital, particularly during her tenure as Chair of the Resources and Audit Committees.
Grand River Hospital’s board includes 19 directors of the corporation, 12 of whom are elected for three-year terms. The GRH board includes representation from the cities of Kitchener and Waterloo. Members of the board include individuals with a wide range of private and community expertise, who volunteer their time to lead the governance of Grand River Hospital.
