Grand River Hospital (GRH) participates in the nursing graduate guarantee (NGG), an Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care initiative aimed at ensuring each new nursing graduate who wishes to work full-time in Ontario will have that opportunity.
The NGG program offers the newly-trained RN a minimum of three months full-time training and mentorship with a highly-skilled professional. The program covers the cost of salary for RNs in a full-time position for up to six months, with the expectation that the new graduate will transition into a permanent position during this time.
GRH currently offers the NGG program to newly-graduated registered nurses who are eligible to participate. For more information on the NGG program, please visit the Health Force Ontario (HFO) website (opens in new window).
GRH takes NGG participants twice a year to accommodate both winter and spring graduates. We have offered NGG placements in programs such as medicine, surgery, ICU, emergency, complex continuing care, childbirth, pediatrics and mental health.
