On-going education is important at Grand River Hospital. This year, we'll tie in a big milestone as part of an important physicians education conference.

On Wednesday May 4th, the Freeport Physicians’ Education Committee is celebrating the centennial of the opening of GRH’s Freeport Campus (then Freeport Hospital) in 1916.

The theme of the 2016 conference is “100 Years of Caring on the Grand”.  Topics will trace the evolution of the hospital from a military sanatorium, through a chronic care hospital, onto today’s complex care, rehabilitation, psychiatry and palliative care hospital.

While reflecting on GRH's past history, speakers will cover a wide variety of current topics of interest to physicians, nurses and allied health professionals who care for elderly patients in hospital and in the community. The final speaker will look to the future and consider the impact of future technology on care of the elderly.
