Lori is a regional coordinator for the Waterloo Wellington Regional Cancer Program and promotes cancer screening and prevention and supports regional cancer program clinical leads.

Lori Temple

Compassion: While Lori does not provide direct patient care, her compassion for patients is beyond measure. Lori has presented to the cancer program’s Patient and Family Advisory Council to seek advice from patients on projects she is working on. Lori listened to their advice based on their cancer experience and took it wholeheartedly into consideration. She often uses past patient experiences to enhance the future patient experience.

Collaboration: Lori is a pleasure to work with. Not only does she show up for meetings on time (every single time!), she shows up with a positive attitude and is ready to work together to achieve our goals. She is willing to share project tasks, she brings great ideas to the table and she goes above and beyond to ensure project success.

Positive attitude: If there is one person who comes to mind with a positive attitude that never fails, it would be Lori. Regardless of any challenges she may face, Lori always finds a way to work within them. She is resourceful and regardless of any challenge she faces, she remains positive and optimistic and seeks ways to work through them.

Respect: Lori works with a variety of different people - staff, patients, families, the community – and she is respectful to each and every one of them. She is respectful of their time, their care experience and any information they have shared. She is able to recognize and appreciate the work of others, while also being grateful for feedback on her own work.

Her nominator added, “Lori has been a pleasure to work with and I am happy to call her not only a colleague, but a friend. I truly believe that because of her work and dedication to cancer screening she has encouraged many people to get screened who may not have otherwise done so. Cancer screening saves lives! Thank you Lori for being that little voice in the back of so many minds telling us to get screened!”
