Volunteering at GRH sites

Grand River Hospital’s sites, KW and Freeport, provide many different health services. The purpose of the volunteer resources department is to assist the hospital by maintaining an adequate and competent number of volunteers that complement staff in the delivery of health care and help serve the needs of our various sites.

The KW Site specializes in acute care with programs in surgical, medicine, mental health, emergency, child birth and children’s services.

The Grand River Regional Cancer Centre (GRRCC), an integrated program of GRH, is located at the KW Site. The GRRCC provides a wide range of advanced cancer treatment services including chemotherapy and radiation therapy.

The Freeport Site is the principle site for complex continuing care and rehabilitation programs in the community. These clients come to the hospital for therapy after strokes, amputations, pulmonary illness and trauma injuries. Freeport is also home to outpatient services and a new specialized mental health program.
