Grand River Hospital (GRH) is dedicated to advancing exceptional care. One of many ways that we do this is by welcoming students to complete their placements at GRH. We offer an assortment of clinical and non-clinical placements for learners. In 2015 we hosted over 1,000 student placements throughout our hospital campuses.

Please be advised that students are required to submit the following documentation prior to beginning placement at GRH:
  • A valid and current Vulnerable Sector Screening Criminal Record Check prior to the start of their placement. Please be advised that this may take up to six weeks to obtain from the police department.
  • Updated medical documentation will be reviewed by our occupational health and safety office.
  • There are several LMS courses that students must complete prior to beginning their placement.
  • A confidentiality form will need to be reviewed, signed and submitted prior to the start date of their placement.

Requests for unpaid student co-op placements need to be submitted through a representative at the school/academic institution via email to the GRH student placement coordinator at Please note that the request must be submitted by the school; requests received from students will not be accepted.
