GRH staff, physicians and volunteers continue to roll up their sleeves in a big way to help Waterloo Region patients.
The hospital's people collectively gave 274 units of blood in 2015 as part of Canadian Blood Services’ Partners For Life program. GRH placed second out of 29 participating Ontario hospitals for the highest number of donations.
GRH joined Canadian Blood Services' Partners For Life program in 2010. Our donations have grown steadily year after year, from 90 donations to our first year to last year's record. GRH is aiming for 300 units in 2016.
If you have donated blood yet, please give it a try. GRH patients need 9,000 units of blood a year. A blood donation is a simple, practically pain-free process. Most people can donate six times a year.
