The Waterloo Wellington Integrated Stroke Program (of which Grand River Hospital is a member) will provide an update for the community leading up to World Stroke Day in late October.

The event will take place on Tuesday October 25th from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the SAVA Club at 50 Scheifele Place in Breslau.

The free event is open to anyone who’s interested. Among those welcome are stroke survivors, caregivers and family members, health care professionals and community partners.

The agenda for the meeting will be as follows:

  • 6:00 - 7:00: displays and information presented by community partners providing stroke care across the continuum of care
  • 7:00 - 7:15: a presentation on the Waterloo Wellington Community Stroke Support System: Connecting the Dots and updates on the Waterloo Wellington Stroke Report Card
  • 7:15 - 8:30: a presentation by Dr. Bill McIlroy, Professor University of Waterloo: "Advances in  Stroke Recovery".

There will also be opportunities to network with other stroke survivors, care givers and staff working across the continuum of care
