Geriatric assessment unit:

This inpatient service is designed for frail seniors who need an inpatient admission. We have a number of health professionals working together to give patients comprehensive geriatric assessment and treatment.

Neurobehavioural unit:

This unit offers specialized assessment and treatment for adults living with age-related conditions that may include dementia.

Both the geriatric assessment unit and neurobehavioural units are located in the Grand River Terrace Building at the Freeport Campus on the 4th floor. Please note this is a secured unit and staff will assist you to enter and exit.

Patients may stay in private, semi-private or ward rooms, and have shared dining and recreational facilities. We will do our best but may not always be able to accommodate room preference.

We welcome visitors as part of the hospital’s visiting policy. Please remember to wash your hands well before, during and after your visit. And please avoid visiting if you have symptoms of a cold, influenza or a stomach virus.
