Restorative care provides slower-paced inpatient rehabilitation therapy to improve an individual’s functional ability, quality of life, and to return back to the community.

This is a short stay program and the goal is always to return to your home. Your health care team will determine an expected date of discharge shortly after your arrival on to the unit. You can call the program at 519-749-4300. The North court’s extension is 7357 and the East court is at extension 7358.

For general inquiries, you are welcome to call the hospital at 519-749-4300 extension 8320 for the central communication station for Union Terrace 4th floor.

Patients may stay in private, semi-private or ward rooms, and have shared dining and recreational facilities. We are not always able to accommodate room preference.

We welcome visitors as part of the hospital’s visiting policy. Please remember to wash your hands well before, during and after your visit. Please avoid visiting if you have symptoms of a cold, influenza or a stomach virus.

Here are a few things you need to know:

  1. You and your family members are key to your success. We will give you the tools and the therapy to recover and encourage you along the way.
  2. The length of time you may spend with our program will vary and will depend on your unique health needs. A team will work with you and your family to determine your plan of care and expected date of discharge.
  3. When you’re ready to leave, your health care team will work with you to determine an expected date of discharge within a few days of your arrival. On the day of discharge please be ready by 10:00 am for departure.
