Excepting some virtual care services, there is currently no impact to the operation of Grand River Hospital programs and services which are up and running.

However, we know that patients being discharged from hospital is in many cases delayed as we are unable to contact family members and health system partners (e.g. some long-term care facilities, patient transport companies) that are impacted by the outage. These challenges will impact wait times, access to care as the flow of patients out of hospital slows.

The emergency department is currently experiencing increased patient volumes. The safety and wellbeing of our patients, and the quality of the care we provide is being maintained, and is always a priority for Grand River Hospital.

As this situation changes, we will continue to provide updates.

We would welcome the additional support of any GRH team members who may be at home today and unreachable due to the outage.
