If you or someone you know has lost a pregnancy or infant and needs support, you are not alone and we have resources for you.

Pregnancy and Infant Loss (PAIL) network is a volunteer organization run through Sunnybrook Hospital. They support people all across Ontario who have lost a pregnancy or infant and/or are struggling with infertility. PAIL supports people through group and online peer support groups, honoring ceremonies and providing a safe space to share stories.

Social Workers: While staying with us we have a social work team who can complement the care you are already receiving. Social workers provide supportive counselling, assessments and link you to resources in your community. Please speak to one of our nurses or other health care provider if you would like to access our support worker. Below are some counselling services in our community.

Spiritual Care Services are also available to you. Many people in our hospital access these resources in times of crisis and grief. They can assist you with religious ceremonies and rituals as well as support you in your time of loss. In addition, the coordinator can contact community clergy and faith groupleaders on behalf of the patient or family member. Your nurse can help you to access this resource.
