Waterloo Regional Health Network is experiencing an increase in the demand for care with a higher than average number of patients coming to our emergency department. At the same time, we are still seeing emergency cases and are often operating with more patients than beds. To help you avoid a hospital visit when you don’t need to be here, we have some tips and resources to help you get the care and comfort you need.

Waterloo Regional Health Network is building a plan that will identify where we want to be in 10 years, our goals, and the work that will need to happen to get us there. Given that the hospital provides service to the community, your input is vital.

Grand River Hospital is now offering a pet therapy program to benefit patients in the children’s and mental health programs. 

With over 25 friends and colleagues in attendance, Dr. Peter Kuhnert was greeted by warm smiles and a round of applause as he accepted the Waterloo Regional Health Network Award of Excellence for his contributions to our mental health and addictions program.

For the first time ever, Waterloo Regional Health Network (WRHN) and St. Mary’s General Hospital (SMGH) co-hosted an annual community update last Thursday, November 21 in front of a sold out crowd at the Centre for International Governance and Innovation in Waterloo.

In 2018/19 WRHN helped save the lives of 25 people and 40 tissue donors enhanced the lives of many people through transplantation of corneas, skin, bone and heart valves.

Thanks to We Fund Care and its generous supporters, renovations to the family lounge in Waterloo Regional Health Network’s children’s program are complete and the space is ready for families to use.
